Presumably Jubilee wouldn't get involved unless they were paid. If they are busy with other ventures, perhaps it took a good amount to divert them.Sounds like a good position to be in. By Pearlyglo

No worries 1pshares, very understandable under the circumstances!

robers - I agree, it is JLP that is getting paid to do the feasibility study and yes all good imo. Still a very long way to go here mind, but things will hopefully look far better within 12 months!! By Yoda

Come on folks read the RNS carefully. 'Jubilee has been awarded a paid consulting contract to execute a feasibility study incorporating the ConRoast process into the current operations plan of an established platinum mining company.'

The process is proven as a stand alone process with its own flowchart with just the final refining as an option. As Wendy had mentioned in the past the process as it stood didn't fit into the existing operational flow of a current producer. It was one of the reasons they weren't originally interested in the tech.when it was put out to the market. Why would a major want to spend millions on changes in its operations if it didn't need to.

We now have to prove it can fit in somewhere thus a feasibility study is needed. The fact that this is being looked at in this manner is a big piece of news in my book. It has to be Northam after their recent news. It might just be that they want a specific type of product to go back into their refinery process.

Also re-read the recent Minesite interview - There’s a stack of industry interest around Conroast”, says Jubilee Platinum’s Colin Bird. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we do some sort of a deal to finance Conroast soon.

The old Braemore plan was always for JV's to bring the technology to market but with a share of the PGM's. Now its time for Colin to come up with those deals.

Youre right Yoda, I'm not going anywhere soon. Just in one of my grumpy moods! By 1pshares
21:36 23/05/2012 Re: I just want my BRR stake back
Thanks, Yoda. Whichever way it's looked at, there are now at least 3 companies showing interest in ConRoast, possibly 5. And there's a long way to go before JLP loses exclusive use, with the world facing an unknown amount of time before recovering from an unprecedented financial meltdown.

It's been a long time coming, but it looks like JLP may soon be in a controlling position. The only worry is that if a major offers a takeover, I hope the big shareholders (are there any left?) won't sell too cheaply.

Of course, I'd also love to see WA becoming a VERY high flame on a very big back burner...

paid consultation:

this is a joke. surely conroast is proven technology so why do the company need to provide a paid consultation? I thought they had demonstrated the additional pgm recovery, especially over UG2 using the process?

seems that the respective company want a cheap trial, when really they dont need one. sounds like they might be stringing JLP along?

dont get it. seems like the negotiations are weak and I would be prepared to go it alone,or almost a loss leader, picking up tailings as you go along and making the most out of these. the smelting operation is not big enough yet. the big players can keep busting their own furnaces as far as i am concerned. serves them right. hope someone does not try to patent their own version of the IP!! Hi comura,

I haven't spoken to JLP for a while but I was surprised by the comment. It sounds odd to me that they would receive cash carrying out a feasibility study for a JV partner. Surely the whole point of a JV is that you contribute your individual knowledge for the benefit of the whole?

Either way, hopefully a nice little earner. I can't see ConRoast not coming out favourably in comparison to the standard smelting operations can you?

It seems to me as if the markets will only ever start to understand JLP when they begin to reap in good revenue and profit. By Yoda

No, I'm wrong. The press think it's referring to Northam...

"The JSE-and AIM-traded company has a paid consulting contract from an established platinum mining group to incorporate ConRoast in a feasibility study.
Jubilee said in its interim results to end-December last year that it had a memorandum of understanding with Northam Platinum to establish a joint venture on a 5MW direct current ConRoast arc furnace at the Booysendal project.
Two other firms have submitted formal inquiries to investigate the technology."

Hi Yoda.

Do you have any opinion on what JLP means by this:

"Jubilee is awarded a paid consulting contract to carry out a feasibility study incorporating the ConRoast process into the operations plan for an established platinum mining company."

If it's part of the existing Northam or Sylvania JVs, then why not simply report it as a development step for the appropriate project? It suggests that the study is to investigate the possibility of a JV with a new partner. Any thoughts on what / who it could be referring to?

I think everyone agrees things have not gone well 1pshares. The thing is if you have waited 4 years already, why not wait another 12-24 months if there is the potential for you to exit with a reasonable profit. The sp here could be way over 50p in a couple of years once the PGM production is under way full time. By Yoda

I'm just fed up holding this share to be honest. Happy to break even (needing nearly a 200% rise) and walk away. Feel sorry for people at 50 - 100p+ buy ins. One of my first shares, sad its going this way.

of course this is the huge one. This is not anywhere in the price at the moment and should this actually get approval then the sp will rerate significantly IMO. Later in the year I believe ?

Excellent news this morning....as far as it went. A shame that they did not give an update on the expected start-up date for the 2.5MW platinum concentrate furnace that they are about to finish relining.

The good news must be that the Ferroalloy smelter should be generating enough cash to keep the show on the road: so any additional share issues should be to fund expansion. LC has stated that in his opinion there is plenty of project funding available in South Africa; but JLP will have to put in its equity share.

This could be for the Sylvania or Northam JVs, or for building or buying a chromite tailings concentrator to supply additional feed for the newly refurbished furnace. (Proactive refer to a "real possibility of a deal involving a tailings facility that could enhance the company’s production profile significantly" in their interview with Colin Bird of 14/5.

The resubmission of the Mining Right application for Bokfontein and Elandsdrift (chromite properties) is a downer: the rights might not be granted for another year. Hopefully there are other tailings they can secure in the meantime - the results of the bid for the "platinum-bearing chromite tailings opportunity" referred to in the update of 27/3/12 should be out in the next few weeks. But without a tailings concentrator (£6m and a year to build) there is a delay before this translates into profits.

If both the "tailings facility" and "platinum bearing chromite tailings opportunity" come off then this could be the start of something much bigger quite quickly, and would certainly justify a small equity raise.

Wishful thinking? Yes, but not too far a stretch from where JLP is today By 5teadyeddie

I think that some fo you guys are in danger of falling at the last hurdle. As far as I see it LC has until end of this year to prove his worth. If he does not produce then I will suggest an action group to boot him out. This is the year it should all happen.
