| Hi NOidea! It'll be all over the place for the next three or four weeks and I shall settle for 15p to 20p up this hand whenever it happens. I think that the more Mrs Merkel shouts about austerity and disciplne, the less likely the Greeks are to vote for it. The Greeks' dislike of the Germans is still very real, they have long memories and don't frighten easily. My mate Kostas in Kephalonia explained the relationship with the Germans like this only last year: "They shot our children for stealing bread because they were starving" Nothing 'Forgive and Forget' about that! | Scrip Election to be: by the close of business on 21 June. Scrip Dividend price: $ 8.2065 (£ 5.2022 on 16 May) Fall in Sterling during fix period means that it's a bit more expensive that we thought but don't go by the Sterling price. Monty By Montyz |

| Hi Widds 1965! A very good point; who will be cushioning me from such cares in the future? I gather though that it gets less exciting and more of a chore after the first one, so I will probably be quite grateful for the odd global financial crisis to take my mind off the little 'rug-rats' after a while. I am already exploring the Werther's Originals Futures market though! Box Fund second draft of Private Offering Memorandum back from the solicitors and accountants. BVI authorities now want a 'proper name' for the fund ... as if! Cheers Monty By Montyz |

| We are now halfway through day four of the five day scrip fix period and The Box Fund Safety First strategy says I must get off my butt and buy. Bought just now at 510 having sold off at 564. As I said last week, HSBC will be looking at this situation very differently; a SCrip Fix at around 515 on WEdnesday should give them an opprtunity to clear up at Scrip Election time (21/22 June). Personally I'm not going to wait that long and I'll be all out before the 15 June. This could just be because of the Greek election results but in addition my first grandchild is due on 13 June - and my mind will not be on the markets! Buying back in now is not the safest option (staying in cash until June 18/19 is) However Scrip Poker rules dictate I fully utilise the fund so here goes. Cheers Monty By Montyz |

| I have a Barclay's stockbrokers Marketmaster account and also an ISA account. I have been sent a letter stating that they wish me and all other Barclays stockbroker account holders to agree to the transfer of all our accounts to Barclay's bank plc. Some of the conditions have been changed. I would be pleased to hear from others what they think about this? By BARWIL |

| Hi Nearly Rich! ...... but as long as you win most of them! I also agree with RichardBB49 that the next Greek election will produce the result that the Germans don't want. The Greek in the street would have to have a much stronger reason for voting for austerity than anything that any politician in Northern Europe has threatened to date and even a default does not seem so dreadful for him to to contemplate. The Greeks' negotiating position is clear and a vote against the current agreement will only strengthen their hand after July15th. All of which concerns me because HSBC Scrip Election will happen just a few days after the Greek election result and I don't see anything that the company says or does will have much effect. That said, I will get back in within the next two or three days but I will minimise my exposure and take any reasonable sp rise in the next two/three weeks but I'll be out again before June 15. | actually both HSBC and Lloyds are getting very close to Buy territory, certainly it looks as i they might be meeting a resistance point against further drops, for those of us holding euro notes, if they start with a Y they are issued by the Greek Central bank and it might be a good idea to get rid of them, IMHO Greece has reached a point of no return and an exit from the euro( again IMHO) will happen, which is why international trading companies operating in Greece transfer their euro out of Greece at the end of each trading day.
