| I'm ok with that. Cashflow keeps on rolling in - sufficient to support acquisitions, which will give them greater capacity utilisation and thus improving margins and ability to expand the business. Able also to support capital investment - and divis
Not much to dislike here that I can see. Don't know much about the competition.

| With a heavy heart, I have today sold my Bunzl shares after a fantastic run.
Whoever said that knowing when to sell is harder than knowing when to buy was so right but other opportunities exist (being VCT season) so I've sold.
Good luck all as Bunzl is a great company and going from strength to strength with its policy of buying bolt on acquisitions.

| Thanks MJS, I had seen this but could not believe that one small broker comment could have such an effect. She said herself that results were "a touch below" their expectations, and then switches from hold to reduce. At the same time the company's own close statement said that their expectations were unchanged from their earlier assessment, and they announced new acquisitions and restructuring of loans.
This sort of comment cannot really justify a 5% price drop in 2 days. By Bilb0

| Seen the following on Citywire which may help clarify.
Seymour Pierce downgrades Bunzl on earnings miss
Caroline de La Soujeole, analyst at Seymour Pierce, has downgraded outsourcing group Bunzl (BNZL.L) from 'hold' to 'reduce' following a trading update that missed his expectations.
Organic sales growth over the latest quarter fell to -0.8%, taking organic growth for the year as a whole to 2.5%, below the 3.1% the analyst had penciled in. She noted that this was a downward trend, with growth in the first and second quarters of 4.3%, followed by a decline to 2% in the third quarter.
'These results are a touch below our expectations,' de La Soujeole said. 'Reflecting this, we are reducing our forecasts slightly, taking adj pre-tax profit to £317.7 million (previously £319.5 million, consensus £318 million). The shares have had a good run over the past year outperforming the market by 13%. The shares are highly rated in our view, trading on a one year prospective price to earnings of 15.5x FY12E falling to 14.3x, compared with a five year through the cycle average of 13x.'
Shares in the group closed at £10.22 on Wednesday, down 43.9p or 4.1%.

| I agree with you Lupo di mare in that the operating margin is disappointing.
I sold out of this share fully at 1,100 about 3 weeks ago as I thought the forward P/E higher than 14 based on analyst guided estimates was too high. The IMS only confirms this as a good decision.
I've gone for weak sell as I see no reason to completely bail out as I think management are still doing an adequate job considering the head winds and the fact that they participate in a wide and diverse market. Sell down and consider some other stocks which have a lighter rating such as Mondi and DS Smith - Both of which I continue to hold.
Bunzl was relegated to my watchlist and I will consider to track on there and wait for a more favourable rating. By Misty Creamybib
| Not particularly inspiring. Disappointed with the operating margin considering the consolidation of the market that they're involved in, but it's a very big market.
I'm happy holding, as ever, and may add if the sp drops sufficiently. By Lupo di mare
