I own a small amount of these. I did not buy them, they became Astaire when they took over Dowgate!!!!! What is it all about? I understand the chairman and his family live nearby, I might just go and ask him................................ By The Greeedy Pig

for existing holders & the reason for the recent Dir purchases perhaps ? Glad I did not sell too hastily. In the longer term (3 - 5 years) there might be some further uplift in value through the realisation of ASTR assets, whilst being the holder of Evolve shares. Personally I would vote in favour of the proposal - what is there to lose? But they do need to remove the threat of the 4 August delisting though as I have to take a decision (sell or hold) well before then as I will be on leave and effectively locked in By forwardloop

"Due to the subjective nature of any valuation of the unquoted assets and difficulties inherent in estimating the extent of contingent liabilities it is not possible to publish a reliable figure for the realisable value of Astaire's other assets and liabilities." You forgot one might need to know this... By littlebird12

you can presumably use iii now to sell (before 4 august) as per their letter to you? By forwardloop

| 19:58 08/07/2011 | Re: Confused |
I cannot advise. However, I shall be considering my own position re Directors purchases and a higher Asset value (see RNS & posts below) than is the current share price vs people selling out, with a view to selling my holding & cutting my losses before 4 Aug. It irritates me to see Dir effectively buying more shares at my expense knowing they have value in their growing holding that they control, but at least they are preventing a free fall in share price. Sometimes co "change their minds" wrt a share delisting. That is irritating when you have just sold. So I am holding & watching - just in case. In answer. You can sell some or all before 4 August. After that you will have to take pot luck with Downgate. But you must make the choice upon current information. FWD By forwardloop

thanks for your reply - I interpret your last sentence re birds to indicate that I should sell, or attempt to, via Dowgate? Sorry if I am being a but thick here. That means I have to transfer from iii to Dowgate? And then hope someone wants to buy? Or did you mean hold? It was a bit ambiguous :-) depends where the 'hand' is, if you see what I mean By kuchcyk

That is some loss that you must have then. i have a small recent holding. i gambled..I lost http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=201106241548031067J The Board is aware that the Cancellation (on 4th August) will restrict the ability of Shareholders to realise their shareholdings, as there will be no market facility for dealing in the Shares and no price will be publicly quoted for the Shares. The Board are aware that Shareholders may still wish to acquire or dispose of Shares and accordingly have arranged with Dowgate Capital Stockbrokers Limited ("Dowgate") that Dowgate will endeavour to provide a dealing facility in Ordinary Shares on a matched bargain basis following the Cancellation ************* Various people (like Investors Chronicle) suggest you exit before delisting. (others will & the share price usually falls. Others "insiders" usually hoover them up if asset value exists. This sale realises a capital loss and adds certainty. Corporate governanace is much worse once delisted You can receive a paper certificate & trade through matched bargain. Here the sales must be matched to a buyer (not guaranteed). In the past I have tended to hold in such circumstances - mostly losing out (& creating complication re timing & proof of capital losss) I once held & did very well (the delisted co had a big asset that it sold 2 yrs later, but not before I read them the riot act re insider dealing & unfairness. They gave me the same share options as they gave themselves (smaller scale of course) to keep me quiet. For ASTR I am unsure. It has assets - will we ever receive proper compensation for them once delisted? ....Perhaps a bird in the hand ... Hope that helps By forwardloop

Just received notification of the corporate action telling me they will delist and I will not be able to sell via iii and I could consider transferring to another broker. Can someone please explain. I have not been on iii for 3 years and have >400k of shares. If they are worth £4000 I don't want to lose that. I am, as you can tell, somewhat out of touch after all this time - not traded for years - yr advice would be appreciated By kuchcyk
